Now Hiring: SEASONAL EMPLOYEES

Dayton History’s Department of Education and Museum Operations is seeking outgoing individuals for seasonal employment during November and December. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact us and join the Dayton History team for an exciting holiday experience!

Details: 15-25 hours per week, including weekend assignments. Pay rate is $8.55. Starting November 21st, Carillon Historical Park will be open from 9:30am to 9:00pm Sunday-Thursday, and 9:30am to 10:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Anyone ages 17 and up may apply. A college degree is not required.

Opportunities may be available to continue as a part-time staff member following December.

We would like all of our winter staff to begin around November 1st, to provide them with suitable training before December.

Now Hiring: MEDIA COORDINATOR

Description:
The Media Coordinator for Dayton History is responsible for the development and coordination of the overall social media and public relations initiatives for the organization, including seasonal events, educational programs, and featured sites.  The position is full-time and reports to the Director of Community Development.

Responsibilities:
-Cultivate and maintain relationships with multiple local and national media outlets and vendors
-Serve as media contact, brief the press, and prepare Dayton History spokespersons for media briefings
-Manage all social media, electronic communications, and website content associated with the organization
-Attend and support seasonal events and programs for the purpose of taking photos/video and gathering content for promotion in real-time and for future initiatives
-Assist the Marketing Associate with the creation of marketing communication pieces and graphics used on social media accounts and websites
-Generate and gather written and visual content for and oversee the creation and distribution of Dayton History’s quarterly member publication
-Serve as brand administrator to ensure brands and graphic standards of Dayton History and all associated entities are consistently represented
-Function as a staff representative to the Marketing Council, in support of the Marketing Associate, assisting with preparation for meetings, gathering input, fulfilling assignments
-Provide support to the development function, preparing communications to assist with fund solicitation
-Work within and maintain the designated annual departmental budget

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in marketing or public relations.  Outgoing personality with a natural ability to build relationships.  Must possess strong writing and editing skills, be proficient in InDesign, PhotoShop, MicroSoft Office, be detail-oriented and be highly proficient in the use of technology and its application to marketing.  Experience in website design and management preferred.  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet specific deadlines.  Position open to experienced individuals as well as recent college graduates with demonstrated skills and internship/on-the-job experience.
