iReport — Dayton, OH
Memorial Hall
Congressman Mike Turner, attendee
The event was quiet but resolute with a sense of commitment to God and country. If they had to do it over again they would in spite of their treatment when they came home---Korean (the forgotten war) and Vietnam vets for sure. Men and women were sent, they served, and really did not know why--once there--they knew it was a sense of survival and coming home in one piece. Stateside it all about noble ideas of 'freedom', God and country--when in the field for those that served, it was about doing the mission, surviving, and coming home in one piece--- No one ever counted on the mental trauma.
