Located on East First Street in the heart of Dayton, Memorial Hall is a historic tribute to local soldiers who served in the Civil and Spanish-American Wars. It begins with grand steps leading to the extravagant atrium with shiny marble columns spanning from floor to ceiling. Dedicated in January, 1910, this French Renaissance building was designed by two Dayton architects, William Earl Russ and Albert Pretzinger, who were chosen through a competitive search. The memorial portion of the building consists of the soaring front entrance atrium, which is filled with bronze plaques, relief sculptures and paintings that depict the region’s military history.
The entrance atrium is perfect for a remarkable wedding ceremony for up to 250 guests, or a smaller cocktail reception. The atrium can also be utilized for a seated reception for up to 120 guests. Memorial Hall’s lower level is a blank slate ready to host your large event – seating up to 250 guests for a wedding reception, or more for a conference or corporate event. In addition to the unforgettable marble atrium, Memorial Hall also offers three board rooms/offices and a large theater space.
