Dayton History is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors/members. Dayton History does not sell, trade or rent personal information about our donors/members with third-party organizations.
Dayton History may collect personal data about donors/members for several reasons, including to administer and maintain accounts relating to donations, to facilitate fundraising, to communicate with donors/members and potential donors/members concerning the organization and organization services and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Such personal information may include name, address, phone number, email address and credit card number when a donor/member voluntarily provides it to us. Also, Dayton History keeps a record of each donor's/member's giving history. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by the Development Department to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make budget projections.
Where appropriate, and with the knowledge and consent of the donor, the organization may publicly recognize the receipt and purpose of an individual gift. However, unless desired by the donor, the organization staff will not disclose the amount of such gifts, except where required by law. Data on donors and donation amounts may be aggregated and stripped of identifying information for reporting purposes (including grant applications and governing filings) without the explicit consent to the donors.
Office policies are in place to safeguard donor/member information. Individual records are kept only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected and to comply with applicable laws.
An individual may withdraw his or her consent to collection, use, or disclosure at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. The organization makes reasonable efforts to keep donor/member files complete, up-to-date, and accurate. Donors/members who wish to access, update or correct personal contact information, remove themselves from our mailing list, or discuss a privacy concern with the organization can contact our Director of Business Operations by phone at (937) 293-2841 ext.103 or via email at ghamer@daytonhistory.org.
